CAREER PROFILE Veteran teacher successful working with a variety of students; flexible teaching across the history curriculum. Skilled at motivating and rewarding students for effort, in the belief that performance will follow. Shaped by principles demonstrating learning through project-based and student-centered activities utilizing various forms of cooperative learning. Administrative experience (Department Chair and Dean of Faculty), but the classroom still best feeds my spirit; promoting professional development and teacher collaboration/exchange of ideas are also important interests.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
I have been a history and humanities teacher in independent schools from Maine to Tennessee, and public charter schools in Washington DC. Throughout my career I been a Dean of Faculty and Department Chair, but love the classroom.
